Tugboat 1999-2009

My beloved baby died early the morning of Feb. 17. His big heart just gave out. Since he will live on in my memory, I will continue to post about him. I will write more when I'm not so heartsick.
Oh, the "curse" of loving a short-lived breed. Bulldogs tend to live between 8 and 10 years, and Tugboat was about 9 years and 3 months.
I hope he had a happy life. I know he made my life much happier.

Your Big Star burned brightly if only briefly. He was lucky to have you as his mom! What do you suppose his first action was once he crossed the Rainbow Bridge?

Where's my Kroger Monterey Jack/Colby cheese?
Then: I can see better again!

What I really hope is that he stopped for a bit to look down on Earth and see what I was doing! Probably crying for him!

Tugboat was such a great dog! I loved how he would try to climb into people's laps--clearly he had no conception of how big he was. But everyone who met him knew how big his heart was. He was so friendly, so sweet, such a joy. I'm really sad to hear this news...

I don't know you personally....I didn't know Tugboat...but I know how it feels to lose a great "dog" friend...mine was "Lynyrd Skynyrd"...mutt....but the best boy I have ever known...it will be 13 years ago that I lost him...you never forget them...but soon when you are ready another "special" one will come along...it did for me his name is "Ben"...he's not Lynyrd Skynyrd...but he is "Ben"...and one wasn't enough...so there is also "Cody"...you sound like a great "dog mom"...it won't be long and your heart will fall in love with another "great" one!!!!
